Sustainability also means helping our clothes last longer. The best way to do so is to wash & care for them well.
Below is our quick guide to fabric care, to help you look after your SUI garments :
HANDMADE FABRICS
Kala cotton, Handspun Handwoven Organic cotton,Silk, Jamdani
Hand wash at room temperature
Kala cotton can be machine washed on a gentle cycle
Do not machine wash
Do not bleach or scrub
Dark colors may bleed, so wash alone for its first wash then with similar colors
Dry away from direct sunlight
Do not tumble dry
Line dry
Iron warm in reverse
Dry clean only if necessary
MACHINE MADE FABRICS
Tencel, Organic Cotton, Knits, Hemp
Hand wash separately at room temperature or machine wash in gentle cycle
Use mild detergents only
Do not bleach or scrub
Dark colors may bleed, so wash alone for its first wash then with similar colors
Tumble dry on low heat setting or Line Dry
Iron warm in reverse
Dry clean only if necessary
Our fabrics are also often a times crafted with plant based dyes or block prints, here is the additional care for the same :
IF HERBAL DYED
Avoid all contact with citric content substances
Wash separately first, and then wash with similar colors
Dry away from direct sunlight
IF HAND PRINTED / AZO FREE DYED
Wash separately first, and then wash with similar colors
